Why We Support
Highlights
Plain Jane may look like a regular CBD company at first glance, but they are so much more than that. The company is the original creator of the very first, low-smell CBD cigarette on the market. They use a unique water curing process to remove the hemp smell, so that users can enjoy the benefits of CBD without what some people consider to be an unpleasant or obvious odor. We believe this makes Plain Jane one of the most unique, innovative CBD companies currently out there, and expect to see even more big things from them in the future.
Owner/CEO background
Plain Jane was founded in April 2018 by CEO Lindsey Holthaus and CTO Evan Marshall.
Holthaus, who is from Baltimore, Maryland, has a Master of Public Policy (MPP) from American University and she has a background in public health policy analysis from her time working at Maryland General Assembly.
Marshall, a former software engineer, graduated in 2015 with a degree in computer science from MIT. His role at a start-up called Rev in San Francisco, helped him better hone the skills he needed to start and continue to run Plain Jane.
Together, the duo started Plain Jane as a way to help allow more people access to affordable CBD hemp flower products. They also focus strongly on social justice programs, offering a discount to customers who have gone to jail or prison for non-violent, cannabis-related offenses.
