Joy Organics CBD Oil Tincture Product Review

Joy Organics CBD Oil Tincture (1000mg) smells decidedly lemony in the bottle (no surprises there since we tried the Summer Lemon Flavor).  It’s a really good lemon scent, capturing all the zestiest notes of the fruit it was inspired by, so we’re really optimistic about the flavor of this CBD oil.

The first flavor of the oil is subtly acidic, similar to the flavor of water with a few lemon slices in it.  When held in your mouth for the minute or so instructed, you get relatively less of the lemon flavor.  It becomes much more notable when it’s being swished and swallowed (again, per the instructions). The flavor is pleasant, not overwhelming — and it won’t leave you burping lemons for hours afterward.

The oil itself is free-flowing and easy to draw up in the included dropper for dosing.  It’s amber-tinted and clear, neither too viscous or too fluid. It feels oily in the mouth, but not greasy, and doesn’t leave a residue on the mucosa of the mouth.

This product is intended to be largely absorbed by the soft tissues of the mouth.  When dosing, hold the tincture under your tongue for at least a full minute (two if you can) before swishing it around your gums and other vascular tissue and swallowing. This vascular absorption allows the majority of the CBD in your dose to enter the bloodstream, and therefore take effect, more quickly.

We felt the effects within about 5-10 minutes of dosing, with those effects building over the subsequent hour or so.  Since the bulk of the CBD is absorbed directly into the blood vessels of the mouth, it tends to wear off a bit more quickly than a softgel might.  Our effects lasted about 4-6 hours but, like with any ingested product, your personal mileage may vary.

We felt both physical and mental relaxation from our dose of this product (33.33 mg of CBD per milliliter).  The product eased muscle tension and alleviated chronic pain and inflammation.  We also noted a pronounced sense of wellbeing and relief from symptoms of anxiety and depression. This is a good dosage strength for relief from moderate symptoms, but more severe conditions may require a higher dose of this product to provide complete relief.

We felt relief from just about every condition we threw this product at, including chronic pain, inflammation, and mood disorders.  We feel that this product could be beneficial for a variety of symptoms and conditions, from aiding in athletic recovery and healing to treating musculoskeletal and neurological conditions.  If your symptoms are based in inflammation (and there’s a good chance they are), a systemic CBD product like this oil may be worth trying.

This CBD oil makes for an easy and effective way to take CBD for a balance between fast-acting and long-lasting symptom relief. That said, if you find yourself in need of localized pain and inflammation relief, you might consider adding a salve to your CBD routine.  A topical CBD-infused salve (shown in image below) like the one offered by Joy Organics will work from the outside while the oil operates from within, providing all-around symptom relief at the site of pain.
