We were really thrilled with all of Joy Organics (now discontinued) CBD skin care products, so we were excited to try this Unscented CBD Cream to see how it stacks up. There is only one variety of this cream currently available, but the gentle ingredients and lack of fragrance makes it a suitable option for just about anything you can imagine, from applying to sensitive rashes and blemishes or just using as a general moisturizer or facial cream. We tested out a small sample first to get a feel for it, but we quickly decided that this could become a go-to moisturizing and relief cream.

Smell

The cream is “unscented,” but of course has some residual smell from it’s natural ingredients. Still, the smell is pretty much what you’d expect from an unscented lotion—mild and quick to fade. The absence of fragrances and other harsh chemical ingredients is most notable, especially for people with highly reactive skin.

Consistency

This THC-Free CBD cream holds true to its name. It’s creamy, but thin enough to stretch to where you need it without feeling watered down like cheap alternatives. The pump lid dispenses an expert amount of the cream each time, and the pea-sized droplet can cover the entire face area with a blanket of delicate moisture. 

Effects

We used this cream for several days and enjoyed the moisturizing effects on our hands and face. After a few days, even the usually dry patches of skin around our chin and nose were calm and smooth. It worked exceptionally well on dry, chapped hands and was especially soothing after being out in the cold wind. 

When we used it on highly irritated areas, like wind burn on our cheeks, the effects were more apparent. After about 15 minutes, the cream was able to calm inflammation and the slight burning sensation that comes along with chapped skin. It also had some effect on sore muscles, though not as obvious as some botanical products we’ve tried that offer the instantaneous relief of menthol or camphor. Still, the cream worked wonders on small aches in the joints and is much preferred to the harsh smell of menthol-based creams for regular use.
